Explore the wonders of Vietnam on a photographic tour like no other. We have some exciting photo tours of Vietnam set to take place as soon as it is safe to travel overseas, and would love the pleasure of your company as we travel through busy cities and remote villages on the search for the ultimate shot.
This truly is the experience of a lifetime and a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the Vietnamese culture whilst learning the art and science of photography from International Travel Photographer, Rod Black.
Cost approx. AUD$4,350 (depending on the exchange rate on purchase) not including airfares.

Vietnam Villages Photo Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Hanoi
When you arrive in Hanoi you will be picked up from the airport and taken to our comfortable hotel located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Our group will meet up over dinner and discuss our upcoming adventure. Late in the evening we will visit the colourful Hanoi Flower (Night) Market.
Day 2 - Hanoi
After a refreshing sleep and delicious breakfast, we will take you out into the hectic streets of Hanoi to photograph the amazing energy and diversity. You will be able to sample the iconic "Egg Coffee" at the origonal back ally cafe.
Evening
After a day of exploring the exciting "Old Quarter" you will attend the famous Water Puppet Show where talented performers and musicians display one of Vietnam’s iconic traditional entertainment icons. We will have a quick dinner, grab our gear and head to Hanoi’s Train Station where you will board the “Orient Express” style overnight train (sleeper) to Lao Cai which lies just within the Vietnamese border with China.
Day 3 - Sapa
Early next morning the train arrives, and we will be met by a private car with our charming local guide, who will take us up into the mountains 60km north to the colourful local Flower Muong Hum or Zou market. You will have a huge number of amazing photo-opportunities here. We then travel to our Sapa Hotel for a fresh shower and to dine at a local restaurant and then a good night’s sleep.
DAY 4 – Lao Chai Ta Van Village
Early the next morning our local Hmong Guide will meet us, and we will begin our day hike to Lao Chai. There will be many adventures along the path and a lunch at a local café overlooking the steep terrace rice fields. That night we will stay at a local “Homestay” followed by a traditional meal with our home stay family.
DAY 5 – Lao Chai Village
The next morning after breakfast our local guide will take you for a trek to stunning vantage points to explore your photographic creativity. It will be harvest time and the rice terraces will be a lovely golden colour and alive with activity. We usually have a portrait workshop here with one of the Hmong iconic personalities.
Afternoon
In the afternoon we will return to the township of Sapa by taxi and you will be able to relax while exploring this unique hilltop township from our first-class hotel
DAY 6 – Sapa to Hanoi
Wednesday morning is a time to relax and have some private time to explore, rest or even get a well-earned massage from one of the professional facilities attached to the hotel.
In the afternoon a limousine will take us south back to our Hanoi hotel where we will enjoy a meal and relax.
DAY 7 – Hanoi to Ninh Binh
Early next morning we will walk through the Old Quarter of Hanoi to photograph the train as it traverses the narrow path between busy houses and shops. Vendors will rush to remove people and obstacles before this huge train rumbles through……. Breathtaking for us, every day for them.
Later that day we will travel by Limo to Ninh Binh where we will photograph the stunning wetlands and the Mua Caves. We will stay at a Tam Coc Homestay, take a dip in the pool and dine in one of the local Tam Coc restaurants.
Day 8 - Ninh Binh
Next morning, we will visit numerous locations around Tam Coc such as the wonderous wetlands that host the local boat people.
Day 9 - Motor Bike tour around Ninh Binh Area
We spend Saturday travelling rural paths with professional motor bike drivers to out-of-the-way locations around the Tam Coc Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex UNESCO World Heritage site.
In the afternoon we head to Da Nang by train (sleeper) and wake to the trains gentle rocking as it weaves its way along the mountainous and picturesque coastline to Da Nang.
Day 10 - Hoi An
Once we arrived the next morning, we catch a taxi for a short trip to beautiful and historic township of Hoi An.
Hoi An will offer so many visual opportunities. It is a riverside town close to clean, beautiful beaches. Historic buildings influence by a hundred years of French occupation are bathed with colour and texture.
Surrounded by ever-present waterways, this area is a treat to view and in the evenings hundreds of small boats and colourful lit floating lanterns swirl within the watery reflections.
Day 11 - Hoi An
Monday morning, we rise early and travel to the local fish market. It comes alive as the fishing boats return with their hulls full of fish from their night at sea. It is alive with frantic activity, and you will be kept on your toes dodging and weaving through bustling vendors stores and keen buyers. Bright lights, tropical mist, vibrant colour and frantic activity will excite your visual creativity.
Our final day of the photo tour will be taken up by exploring beautiful town Hoi An and meeting some famous local photographers. It will allow you to enjoy some of the many cafes and restaurants. In the evening we will host a debriefing workshop and dinner where we can celebrate our images. It will be a final get together to scroll through the amazing images you have produced.
Day 12 - Hoi An
For the adventurous guest we can arrange a 2 am shoot of the Old Japanese Bridge in Hoi an. We will have our breakfast together and spend some of the morning doing a final scout around Hoi An.
Day 13 - Hoi An

You are then welcome to stay on or we will assist you on your way home from your fabulous adventure photographic tour.
